March 2026
Video clips and voice notes, recorded directly in session
What changed
Some things are hard to explain in writing: how a child asked for a toy using a new word, what an exercise the family can repeat at home looks like, how a child got through a difficult transition. From March 2026, the therapist can record a video clip or a voice note directly from the session record, without another app and without moving files off their phone.
The recording stays linked to the session it was made in and to the child's record, so you can find it easily later.
Video clips
From the session, the therapist starts the camera on their phone or tablet and films. They can pause and resume, switch cameras, and at the end review the clip before keeping it. If it is not good, they discard it and film again.
A clip lasts at most 5 minutes, and the recording stops on its own at this limit. Each clip gets a name, for example "Motor imitation, second attempt", so it is easy to recognise.
Voice notes
The voice note works the same way, just with the microphone: up to 3 minutes, with pause, resume and listening back before saving. It is a quick way to leave a summary of the session when there is no time to write, or to tell the parent, in the therapist's own voice, what to watch for at home in the coming week.
What the parent sees
Each clip and each voice note has the option "Share with parent". It is ticked by default; the therapist unticks it if the recording is to stay with the team only. The decision can be changed later at any time, from the same session: a shared clip can be hidden, and a hidden one can be shared.
In the portal, the parent sees only the shared recordings on that session, and gets a notification when a new one appears. The ones not shared stay with therapists, coordinators and administrators; the parent has no access to them.
Good to know
- Limits per session: at most 20 clips and 10 voice notes. Enough for the moments that matter, without turning the session into continuous filming.
- Deleting: a clip or a voice note can be deleted from the session. When an administrator permanently deletes a child's record, their clips and voice notes are deleted too.
- Agreement with the family: settle with parents, from the start, whether and when filming happens in sessions, so no one is caught off guard by the first clip.
- Sharing is the therapist's decision: before saving, check the sharing option. A clip made for a team discussion should not reach the family by mistake.
